Background:

Turmeric is a spice that is derived from the root of the turmeric plant.  Turmeric can be used for arthritis, heartburn, joint pain, stomach pain, Chrohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, diarrhea, intestinal gas, stomach bloating, loss of apetite, jaundice, liver problems, high cholesterol, skin inflammation, and fatigue.

Mode of Action:

Turmeric contains curcumin, which make up a class of compounds called curcuminoids. Curcumin may decrease swelling (inflammation), and might be beneficial for treating inflammatory conditions in joints, muscles, and skin.  The black pepper extract, piperine, is added to the tablet at a rate of 1% to aid in absorption and increase bioavailability of the curcuminoid compounds.

Avoidances:

Always consult your physician before taking a new supplement of remedy, as people may have dissimilar experiences to the product.  Turmeric is not recommended for those with gall bladder problems, bleeding problems, those taking blood thinners, men with fertility issues, patients with iron deficiencies, or an upcoming surgery.

Why Hakala Research TurmeriTab?

Most other turmeric products on the market are available in capsule form. When considering a turmeric product, the research team concluded that “why change what we are already professionals at accomplishing?” This led to a formulation of TurmeriTab in a tablet form, instead of a capsule. Additionally, we pondered:  how to increase the absorption of the curcuminoids? The answer was to utilize piperine (black pepper extract), which is rarely found in competing products. Hence, the TurmeriTab formula contains 1% piperine.

The research pilot study group reported that while the effects of the TurmeriTab were not realized immediately (about 7-14 days after starting), most reported a decrease in joint and general arthritic pain as the main contributing benefit of the product. None of the participants reported an upset stomach as a result of the additional black pepper extract.

Suggested Dosage:

Take one to two tablets daily or as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
